Project 1: Stop using paper for to-do lists…
Like most folks plying the waters of the artistic and self-employed, I’ve got a lot of irons in the fire. Different projects that bring in different streams of income. You can see from the menu header on this site the variety of things that I involve myself in.
My normal system of time management is to spend one day per week on stuff that needs large chunks of time and scattering the others through the week. Some things need to be done more than once a week, of course. Voiceover auditions and jobs, exercise, writing time, giving music lessons, etc.
The only problem with this system is that it often takes longer to finish projects that I’d like. Sometimes I feel like one of those big corporations that moves at a snail’s pace to finish everything.
So I wanted to start the year with something a little different. A project binge. There are still only so many hours in a day. But I want to spend a week each on some bigger projects that I want to get going. I honestly don’t know how this will go. But after the first week I’m starting to get an idea.
This is pretty much a repost of something I wrote for my artist blog awhile back. Well before I started Big Whiz Bang. So I wanted to transfer the info over here so you can keep your resources all in one place. 🙂
There was a discussion the other day among my comedian friends about how to put up a website cheaply and easily. And it can be done just that way.

Forever I’ve been hearing about how A/B testing your pages is super important to maximizing your conversion rate. And it is. And I’ve been lazy. Well, not lazy. Just overwhelmed and confused.
How to do it? How to keep track? I got a little bit of experience with the A/B testing experiments available in Google Analytics, but found it awkward and confusing. Plus sometimes it just doesn’t work right. (What do you mean you can’t find the code Google? I’m staring right at it!)

Does every single morning look like this? Boooooring.
This may seem a little bit off of my normal topics of marketing and money-making. But it’s my site, so neener neener. Maybe I’ll change this to a “lifestyle blog”. Ugh, even that term makes me feel creepy for some reason.
Ok, anyway… For quite awhile I’ve been on the Slow Carb Diet and proposed in Tim Ferris’s 4 Hour Body book. And I’ll say this much, it works…. when I actually stick to it. 🙂 But I like to try new recipes out and change up what I’m eating whenever I’ve got time to cook. And I find it difficult to find good slow carb recipes online that fit within the 4 Hour Body guidelines.
